For fans awaiting an April 2017 release of the sequel and to celebrate the occasion of Mahashivratri, director SS Rajamouli and his team have revealed a new motion poster of ‘Bahubali 2’. The 26-second promo shows the lead actor Prabhas, as the mighty Bahubali, posing in a fierce demeanor on an Elephant’s head. A large idol burns in the background, which is perhaps the aftermath of a destructive action scene.
The prequel, Bahubali, is an Indian historical fiction movie directed by Telugu director S.S. Rajamouli. It was the first of two cinematic parts and was simultaneously made in Telugu and Tamil. The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubatti, Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty in lead roles. The film, which was made on a budget of ₹ 120 crore, released worldwide on 10 July 2015 and soon became the highest grossing Indian film within India, and the third highest grossing Indian film globally. It became the first South Indian Film to gross over ₹ 650 crore worldwide and the first non-Hindi film to gross over ₹ 100 crore in the dubbed Hindi version. It is also the highest grossing Telugu film of all time. Also, it is the highest grossing South Indian film at the global box office.
