On Monday, in New Delhi Microsoft India held its ‘Tech for Good, Ideas for India’. Satya Nadella, the Microsoft CEO, delivered the keynote address. Jayant Sinha, the Minister of State for Finance, was also present in the event. During Satya Nadella keynote address on Monday, which was a conversation with young achievers, students, developers, and entrepreneurs, he said that the company was focusing in India so that they could give power to each and every citizen of India and every organization to perform better than what they can do and thereby achieve more not only for themselves but also their country.
After a meeting with Microsoft developers, entrepreneurs and students Nadella said to the media every time I come here, I go back energised. Its infectious to see the creativity here. It’s important to dream big and create big. Nadella started his speech quoting the noted Urdu and Persian poet of the 19th century, Mirza Ghalib’s words, Hazaaron khwaishein aisi, ke har khwaish pe dum nikle. Bohot nikle mere armaan, fir bhi kam nikle, which when translated means thousands of aspirations such, that each aspiration takes your breath away… I had many dreams, but they still weren’t enough. He said that I had only two passions that have driven my dreams – poetry and computer science.
Jayant Sinha, the Minister of State for Finance said Microsoft is a platform for India’s growth. Then looking at Nadella, he said the kind of innovation you do in Seattle, New York, London and other places will not work in Jhanda Chowk in Hazaribagh which is a constituency represented by Sinha. We need to innovate in India for India.Soon after Nadella’s visit to India he was followed by Tim Cook, the Apple CEO.
