Delhi Event Finds Microsoft CEO Talking About Technology’s Transformative Power

On Monday, in Microsoft’s Tech for Good, Ideas for India event, Satya Nadella, the Microsoft CEO  delivered a keynote address on innovation for India.  After the event he conversed with young achievers, students, developers, and entrepreneurs. Mr. Jayant Sinha, the Minister of State for Finance who was present at the event welcomed the India focused innovation offered by Nadella.

Nadella in his keynote address tried to inspire the generation of students, developers, and entrepreneurs in India to innovate for the country. He said that his India visit had inspired him as well, with quickly changing landscape of Digital India. He said the India visit had inspired him as well, with quickly changing landscape of Digital India.He started his keynote by quoting the Indian poet Ghalib, Hazaaron khwahishen aisi ho ke har khwahish pe dam nikle, Bohat niklay mere armaan, lekin phir bhi kam nikle that spoke about dreams that were worth dying for. He said one of these dreams was to use digital technology as a force for good.

Nadella said that in the recent past we have seen many changes in transformations technology  and will continue to see many such changes in future too. In his address he pointed out that in the recent past the company had also under taken different youth-oriented development initiatives, like the YouthSpark, the Imagine Cup, and Academia Accelerator. In the event he also highlighted two new innovations that is the Spot Garbage system and the Life Saver App, which he said was specially applicable for India. The Spot Garbage system uses machine learning and vision techniques and it is a real-time garbage management system that won the Imagine Cup while the Life Saver App was developed developed as part of the Academia Accelerator programme.  This App is sensitive to the symptoms of a heart attack, it not only detects but also alerts users and their contacts, about an heart attack that is about to occur.
