Some of us still haven’t given up on PC gaming. There still is a sizable chunk of folks whose fingers never could adapt to anything but a computer keyboard and mouse, and who take their gaming rather seriously. Thankfully, there still are people out there who cater to that crowd and the Gigabyte BRIX Gaming GT compact desktop is proof.
Replete with a strangely attractive, toxic looking green mesh, LED lights and an oval cross section, it screams ‘Teenage’, but what it hides inside is a lot of grown up power. There will be two variants on sale, one that comes fitted with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming 8GB graphics card and the other powered by the GeForce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming 8GB graphics card.
Common to both the rigs is a 6th Gen Intel 4.0 Ghz ‘Skylake’ Core i7-6700K quad core processor, backed by 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. Storage is taken care by a 240GB M.2 SSD and a 1TB 7200RPM hard disk drive. Pre-installed with Windows 10, additional hardware comes in the form of an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165NGW card, Qualcomm Atheros Killer E2400 Gigabit LAN, a USB 3.1 Type-C port with Thunderbolt 3 support, 3 USB 3.0 Type-A ports, and a headphone/mic jack. Jacking up audio abilities is a Realtek ALC1150 HDA codec, with a Ti Burr Brown OPA2134 amp. Prices are yet to be announced.
