Google has updated its mobile search display to make browsing content from single sources easier. If you’ve performed a search with the Google box on your mobile device in the last few days, you might’ve noticed it already. Now, when you make a query for a topic, it’ll populate results with a rotating carousel of the “freshest and most relevant content” from a single source according to Google’s official blog.
“Whether you’re looking for the latest clips from The Daily Show, news about the possibility of Greece leaving the Eurozone, or highlights from today’s Panthers game against the Canadiens, it can be hard to sift through all the great videos, articles and more out there to find what interests you. Now, if you search on Google on your mobile, you’ll see the freshest, most relevant content from within a single website grouped together in one easy-to-scan place,” said Ardan Arac, Product Manager, Google Search.
“For example, if you search for NPR, you’ll see links to all their latest articles and videos. Search for the Knicks to browse content from their site as well as videos and news from ESPN or Bleacher Report,” explains Arac.
With the new view, a user can scroll down and see a “carousel” of recent articles, videos or more on that subject. The user can then tap any link to read or watch what he or she is interested in.
The feature is not yet available for all major topics or websites, but Google says that it will come “for more sites soon.”
