Google Pixel 9 Series Leak: Design, Battery, and Charging Specs Revealed

The Google Pixel 9 series, which reportedly includes the Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, is set to be unveiled at the upcoming Made by Google event on August 13. In recent weeks, numerous leaks have surfaced, revealing the design, key features, and potential price points of these devices. The latest leak comes from a certification site, shedding light on the series’ design, battery, and charging specifications.

Design Leaks of Google Pixel 9 Series

The design of the Pixel 9 series was recently spotted on Taiwan’s NCC certification site, as reported by Android Authority. The images reveal the full design of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, showcasing a device that can lay completely flat—a significant improvement over the Google Pixel Fold, which couldn’t open fully. The new foldable also boasts better crease control and slimmer bezels, enhancing the user experience. The inner selfie camera is positioned in the top right corner, while the rear camera array has been redesigned with a squarish look.

The base and Pro models of the Pixel 9 series, as seen in the NCC listing, feature a visor-like camera island similar to the Pixel 8 series. The standard model includes a dual-camera setup in a pill-shaped module alongside an LED flash. The Pro variants, however, come with a triple-camera system and an additional temperature sensor.

Hands-on videos of the Pixel 9 series have also surfaced on TikTok, providing size comparisons with other flagship devices. One video compares the Pixel 9 Pro XL to the iPhone 14 Pro Max, while another shows the base Pixel 9 alongside the Pixel 8.

Camera, Battery, and Charging Specifications

The Pixel 9 Pro XL’s camera app was showcased in one of the leaked videos, revealing preset zoom options: 0.5x (ultra-wide), 1x (main), 2x (sensor crop), and 5x (telephoto). The camera also supports manual zoom up to 30x, offering versatile photography options.

Battery and charging details have been hinted at in the NCC listing. The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro are expected to feature 4,558mAh batteries, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL may come with a slightly larger 4,942mAh battery. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is likely to be powered by a combination of two cells, totaling 4,560mAh.

As the launch date approaches, these leaks continue to build anticipation for Google’s latest flagship series. With improvements in design, camera technology, and battery life, the Pixel 9 series aims to set new standards in the smartphone market.
