The OnePlus One was a true flagship killer. The OnePlus 2 is a good phone, but it doesn’t decimate its opponents nearly as brutally as its forebear did. Powered by a watered down version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, the alleged ‘2016 Flagship Killer’ is already overshadowed by a whole bunch of devices, which in some cases don’t even cost too much.
But it’s not just the specs which make the OnePlus 2 less likeable than its incredible predecessor. It’s marred by a whole bunch of issues, which make it less desirable than some of its rivals, and a lot of other higher-spec, higher priced phones. Here’s a list of five things which the new OnePlus 2 absolutely sucks at.
No gallery
Yep, you heard it right – you cannot access your images conveniently after you took them. While the Cyanogen backed OnePlus has a fantastic image gallery, that categorized images and videos based on their source and sorted them in a convenient, easy to access fashion, the 2, running Oneplus’ in-house Oxygen doesn’t even have a gallery. No thumbnails, no previews, no categories – essentially, no way to see the images you clicked recently. The only way to access the images is to browse through the folders and open the file to see what’s inside. We hope OnePlus fixes this soon enough as the users are getting really miffed by the lack of this rather simple feature.
Low battery performance
Okay, so it doesn’t exactly suck, but it’s quite a disappointment for those who used the One. Even with its large screen size, and resultantly a large 3300 mAh battery capacity, the OnePlus 2 doesn’t quite go the distance when used with enthusiasm. It sits below the Galaxy Note 5, OnePlus One, Nexus 6 and Experience Z3 + in the battery performance charts and lasts an unimpressive six and a half hours on average use.
High charging time
So you got that USB type-c cable first – good for you. But it’s actually no good except for offering the ease to slot the cable in. It takes (much) longer to charge the 2, as compared to the One, which was lightening quick in absorbing electricity. The new phone takes roughly two and a half hours to charge. What’s more, with the relatively new Type-C cable, you cannot anymore blindly flick a friend’s cable to charge your phone. And that sucks big time when the battery is at sub-10 percent levels and you need it to last a few hours.
No NFC
So OnePlus thinks that not enough people use NFC. So they dumped it – wow! Sure, not a lot of people use NFC, but the use of the tech is on the rise and not on the wane. The lack of NFC means you can’t use apps that pair devices or transfer data using NFC to negotiate a connection. Wireless payments with Google Wallet or Android Pay can’t be accomplished too. And if you own the OnePlus 2, you cannot do anything about it.
Sub-par benchmark scores
The 2016 Flagship Killer is nowhere to be seen among the top scoring phones on the Antutu benchmark. The reason is simple, the 810 chipset on the 2 doesn’t go all guns blazing, and has been toned down to prevent overheating. The 2, thus isn’t one of the fastest phones by a long shot, a feat that made its predecessor what it was – a true flagship killer.
By no means do we mean to denigrate the virtues of the OnePlus 2 with this article. We understand and appreciate that it’s a well made phone which offers good performance and features at a great price. Though after using it for a few months, the experience is rather underwhelming, as opposed to the One, which delighted one and all with its earth shattering performance.

No gallery? There's the Google Photos app preinstalled if you don't want to download anything.
One may not want to upload his images to Google Photos. There should be a local app, which doesn’t require a third party like Google to view images. Wouldn’t you agree?
You are incorrect.
You can disable online backup with a simple tap in the Settings of Google Photos. If you turn off online backup, Google Photos just becomes a standard gallery app for your phone.

Battery charging time? totally disagree.
OnePlus 2 Have provided dock that recharges phone so quickly. It seems that 2 have implemented fast charging mode.
and Battery performance is also good.
