Inaugural edition Nvidia GeForce Cup to be hosted in India from 23 September to 8 October 2016

With an aim to promote new games in eSports and drive superior gaming experiences for PC gamers, Nvidia will be hosting the inaugural edition of the GeForce Cup in India. This event will have eight selected cafes across the country to carry out the event. These gaming cafes selected for the tournament are Nvidia Certified and use GeForce GTX graphics cards. The teams of gamers will compete against each other in Overwatch.

Dell Alienware, has joined hands with Nvidia for this event to accentuate the gaming experience. The brand completed 20 years in the gaming industry this year. On the occasion, Vamsi Krishna, Head – Consumer Marketing, South Asia, Nvidia expressed that eSports have taken the world by storm and India is no exception. The format attracts gamers as they get to showcase their skills, compete with each other, and gain recognition from their peer gaming community. At Nvidia, they see immense market potential in India and through GeForce Cup, Nvidia wants Indian gamers to experience the latest eSport games on the best platform. This will also pave the way for them to compete at international competitions. He further added that it will encourage gaming cafes to keep abreast with the latest developments in the gaming scene and improve the experience for their customers. This invariably results in higher footfall, and increased revenue.

The tournament will comprise seven matches and it will be spread across three weeks, starting Sep 23 till Oct 08, 2016.
