Lenovo Phab 2 Pro Tango Launched

The Lenovo Tech World 2016 event was held in San Francisco. On Thursday, during the key note address the Chairman and CEO of Lenovo Yang Yuanqing, announced the first consumer facing Project Tango smart phone.

The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro smart phone was developed in collaboration with Google. This device is made to make AR and VR as pervasive as the GPS. In September this smart phone will be available all over the globe on retail shelves, and in August, they intend to start shipping from online stores. This new smart phone is available for $ 499 that is approximately INR 33,500. Project Tango has paid more attention to machine vision, it has a camera and sensor setup that helps not only motion tracking and depth perception but also area learning. This helps in augmented reality applications like indoor navigation, search, and gaming. Due to its depth sensing, it can be used for gesture tracking in virtual reality.

The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro comes with a 6.4-inch QHD IPS display, and altogether four cameras. It sports a 8 megapixel secondary camera, a 16-megapixel primary RGB camera, an infrared camera with an imager and an emitter for depth sensing and also a motion tracking camera. It is powered by an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC, along with 4GB of RAM. The Phab 2 Pro features a 4050 mAh battery that is said to last for 15 hour. Beside all these it also comes with Dolby Atmos audio technology for its speakers and for recording 3D sound it comes with Dolby Audio 5.1 Capture technology. Lenovo also announced a special Tango app store which at the time of launch will be ready with 25 apps. The company hopes to reach 100 apps by the end of the year.
