MediaTek has introduced two new members to the Helio X20 family. The MediaTek Helio X23 and X27 mobile processors will soon be available on upcoming phones. These two upgraded mobile processors are claimed to offer the next level in user experiences by improving the overall performance, and camera quality. With the bump in performance and camera quality, these processors still provide power-efficiency with the help of an Envelope Tracking Module.
This module dynamically adjusts the output voltage based on signal strength from the power amplifier, averaging a 15% reduction in power consumption during peak output. Also, these chipsets include MiraVision EnergySmart Screen power-saving tech that modifies the display parameters based on the on-screen content and ambient lighting for up to a 25% reduction in display power consumption.
Coming to the performance, both the SoCs get Tri-Cluster Deca-core architecture. The MediaTek Helio X23 employs a combination of 2x Cortex-A72 (2.3GHz) 4x Cortex-A53 (1.85GHz) 4x Cortex-A53 (1.4GHz). And the X27 uses a more powerful 2x Cortex-A72 (2.6GHz ) 4x Cortex-A53 (2.0GHz) 4x Cortex-A53 (1.6GHz) combination. These SoCs are also benefitted by MediaTek CorePilot 3.0 technology. Both deliver more than a 20% overall processing improvement and significant increases in Web browsing and application launching speeds based on MediaTek-engineered advancements in the CPU/GPU heterogeneous computing scheduling algorithm.
Supporting the new smartphone camera trend, the dual camera photography, the MediaTek Helio X23 and X27 fully support the tech with the upgraded MediaTek Imagiq image-signal-processing solution. MediaTek Imagiq ISP is the first to integrate color and mono cameras and depth-of-field applications into a single ISP aimed at both quality and functionality for photography.
MediaTek Helio X23 and X27 boast significant improvements in image clarity, saturation, exposure control, portrait performance, and large aperture applications optimized through the color+mono smart dual camera and dual phase-detection systems.
Together, the MediaTek Helio X20 family of high-end mobile processors, including the MediaTek Helio X20, X23, X25 and X27, offer smartphone makers an increasing range of performance options to meet their product differentiation needs. Here are the quick specs of all the four:
