OnePlus 3T 64GB and 128 GB launched for USD 439 (approx INR 30,000) and USD 479 (approx INR 32,500) respectively

Finally, the highly anticipated upgraded version of the OnePlus 3 is brought out of the covers. Some didn’t like it because it came just a few months after the launch of the OnePlus3 (OP3), but many are rejoicing as the 3T has given then enough reasons to go and grab it from the shelves! Some rumours are put off while some are confirmed here is all you need to know about the just launched OnePlus 3T.

The OnePlus 3T will be available in two variants with storage capacity of 64GB and 128GB respectively. The phone will be offered in two colours – Gunmetal and Soft Gold. The Gunmetal is a great addition! The 64GB variant will retail for a price of USD 439 (approx INR 30,000) where as the 128GB OnePlus 3T will be available in Gunmetal only and bear a pricetag of USD 479 (approx INR 32,500). The OnePlus 3T will be available in the US and Europe from 22 and 28 November 2016 respectively. Apart from the new Gunmetal colour there is no other bit that sets apart the OnePlus 3T from the OP3

The OnePlus 3T and the OnePlus 3 are absolutely identical in terms of design and construction. So you are looking at the same Anodized aluminium unibody construction, 5.5inch FullHD Optic AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. However, the 8MP front camera (Sony IMX179) has been replaced with a 16MP unit equipped with Samsung 3P8SP Sensor. The EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) of the primary camera has been improved as well.

Further, the SoC has been upgraded to the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 that employs Quad Core chip (Kryo 2x 2.35 GHz, 2x 1.6 GHz). This is coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB of RAM. The storage options, as mentioned earlier, now include a 64GB as well as a 128 GB model. The 3T also gets an enhanced file system allowing the user to launch heavy apps and games much faster.

To support all the upgraded hardware the OnePlus folks have bumped up the battery by about 30%. The 3T will be with a 3,400 mAh battery and interestingly, the battery retains the same size and weight as before.

While the OnePlus 3T will roll out with Android Marshmallow based OxygenOS as of now, the developers have confirmed that the Nougat update will be rolled out by the end of this year (2016). OnePlus 3 users, fret not, your phones will get all the updates at the exact same time! So, updated OxygenOS version along with the much awaited Android 7.0 Nougat coming soon!
