Pioneer Infotainment Launches ARC (Advanced Remote Control)

Pioneer is the leading in-car infotainment company with a host of devices to cater to every need related to music and video inside the car. The company launched a smart phone application ARC (Advanced Remote Control) for its devices. With the help of the ARC, users can now connect their smart phones to the unit and not only just share songs and videos from the phone to the device, but also use the phone as a remote control for the unit. The ARC is available for download from the Google Play Store and Apple iTunes.

Pioneer’s new ARC app will enable users to control and play various music sources and apps in their smart phone conveniently by operating the Pioneer audio receiver setting. It will also enable users to manage their contacts / calls and control selected 3rd party apps like navigation to get turn-by-turn guidance through the car speakers. The addition of this ARC to Pioneer systems is a great step ahead towards integrating user friendly smart phones with the in car entertainment systems. The app can be connected to the unit using the usual USB cable that ships with every smart phone, the other end of which can be connected with the Unit’s USB port.

Pioneer claims that the app’s large icons & touch and swipe interface makes it easy to switch music source and songs. According to the company, the app also features a two display mode (Vertical and Landscape) and a customizable theme color along with an album artwork. It is also said to be compatible with Mixtrax which is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a Non-Stop music MIX with a range of DJ-inspired effects.
