We know video games are one of the best stress relievers out there but ehre’s some advice for our readers. If a mutual friend invites an A-list actor or actress over to your apartment for a date, playing video games probably isn’t the answer to having a great time.
On the American talk show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, guest Nicole Kidman told the story of how Fallon’s love of video games spoiled the chances of the two celebrities dating. Kidman recalls visiting Fallon’s apartment in New York City years ago for a casual hangout. But when she got there, Fallon, apparently wearing sweatpants and unaware that it was a date, was too shy to talk, and even turned on a video game.
“And then you put a video game on or something,” said Kidman, “and I’m like, this is so bad.” This particular detail sent Fallon diving under his own desk in embarrassment, and he came up with his head in his hands. The hangout lasted about an hour and a half, and it left Kidman thinking Fallon had “no interest” and that there was “no chemistry” between them.
The entire sad story overran any attempt at a typical talk show interview, leaving both Fallon and Kidman giggling throughout the rest of the nine-minute segment.
