Mobile World Congress (MWC) kicks off in Barcelona this weekend and that marks the time for all companies to showcase their mobile devices and other modern technologies for 2016. Sony is not behind as the Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation may unveil a wireless earbud at MWC press conference on Monday. The wireless earbud called ‘Smart Ear’ is said to be similar to the Moto Hint, which promised a Bluetooth-enabled smart headsets, according to the Verge. The ‘Smart Ear’ is expected to be more of a headset (for just one ear) rather than a stereo earbud replacement.

The company is one of the leading manufacturers of electronic products for the consumer and professional markets. Sony is ranked 116th on the 2015 list of Fortune Global 50. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Sony’s diversified business includes consumer and professional electronics, gaming, entertainment and financial services. The specifications of the smart ear along with details of what it can be used for have not yet been disclosed by the company. Experts believe that information pertaining to its use will be made public only during its unveiling at the MWC.
