SwiftKey’s Swiftmoji Beta Keyboard Now Predicts Emoji as You Type

Emojis, emoticons and commonly known smileys have now undoubtedly become a part of our daily conversations. It was high time that some one developed an application that could predict emojis just like texts based on the previously typed words. Presto! Now there’s an app that can predict an emoji based on the typed text. SwiftKey, owned by Microsoft and which is the maker of popular keyboard app for Android and iOS, has now launched a new Swiftmoji app in beta. This new application from SwiftKey is nothing but an usual keyboard with predictive emoji and works almost exactly as the original SwiftKey keyboard app.

Considering that the new app focuses on emojis, the beta version of the Swiftmoji app now places the emoji bar on top of the regular keyboard for easy access. The USP of this app is when a user types some text, the predictive emoji feature suggests some of the emojis to be used, which can then be incorporated into the text with just a tap. For instance, if the user supposedly types “school” during the conversation, then the Swiftmoji predicts a school bus and other similar emojis. This kind of a feature was first seen in Hike, where the application predicted stickers based on the text typed by an user. However, emojis were not predicted. But since stickers are anyway the USP of Hike, it worked and will in all probability continue to do so.

Other features of the Swiftmoji app remain same as the SwiftKey, which includes the swipe input and the personalised keyboard. Users who want to become beta testers for Swiftmoji will need to sign up via Google Play before they can download the app. SwiftKey has reportedly told TechCrunch, a tech news website, that it will only accept “a small number of people” into the beta, so if you want to try it, you should sign up and download it right away.
