If one display’s not enough for you, have two! Gionee has announced a flip phone called the W909. The device features two 4.2-inch 720p displays, one inside, the other outside. Both screens are supposed to be identical IPS panels. The device is powered by a MediaTek Helios P10 chip and comes with 4GB of RAM. You also get 64GB of internal storage and there’s support for up to 128GB microSD cards. The device runs Gionee’s Amigo UI on top of Android 5.1and features a 16MP rear camera. The 5MP front camera boasts of a fingerprint sensor at the back.

You get a 2530 mAh lithium ion battery and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. Strangely, the device is only available in Rose Gold and Pink color versions, for now at least. Sadly, flipping open the phone reveals a regular numpad. We would definitely have preferred a nice QWERTY keyboard instead of T9.

This isn’t the first “premium” flip phone to use dual screens however, the Samsung SM-W2016 before it offered S6 specifications in a dual-screen flip-phone. The Gionee W909 is expected to go on sale in China at a price of CNY 4,000, which is approximately around INR 41,000. Coming to the Connectivity options, the New Gionee W909 flip Handset supports 4G LTE networks, with GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, and USB Type-C connectivity. The handset’s 2530mAh battery, can deliver up to 29.7 hours of talk time and 408 hours of standby time. The fingerprint sensor at the back can unlock the handset in 0.38 seconds. The smart phone measures 124.1×62.8×16.5mm and weighs 207 grams.
