Whether or not you are a Leonardo DiCaprio fan, you should be watching this film, well, documentary namely ‘Before the Flood’ right now. For starters, its free to watch only till November 2016, two days before the US Presidential Polls. Secondly, and more importantly, it touches upon a subject that affects our lives directly or indirectly today, and will most definitely affect the lives of our offspring in generations to come. Climate change is real, and Leonardo wants to ensure that everyone knows about it.
Why only for a limited time? You might want to ask. Well, in layman’s terms, it’s a bit of an endorsement activity, for policy, if not an individual. While Donald Trump thinks that this whole jazz about climate change is bull crap, and just a ploy by some nations (like China) to undermine American industry, Hillary is more pro-clean energy. Thus, by showing it to a wide audience for free, Leonardo, who is a climate change activist wishes to turn the tide in favour of Hillary, to whatever extent he can. Then again, why not let the film be viewable all the way till the election day? National Geographic and Leonardo DiCaprio might want to think about it.
Before The Flood, tries to analyse climate change. The film was released in theatres recently, on October 21st only, But National Geographic has now released the film on Youtube for everyone to watch. The film, hosted by DiCaprio and directed by Fisher Stevens is available for viewing right now across a variety of websites, including ours and on social networks in embedded form.
Talking about the release, DiCaprio says “We cannot afford, at this critical moment in time, to have leaders in office that do not believe in the modern science of climate change. We need to galvanize the world community to put in office people who are not only believers in the science, but are going to take rapid action immediately. And that’s why we wanted this film to come out before the next election, because as we’ve cited in this film, the United States is the largest contributor to this issue. We need to set the example for the rest of the world to follow.”
We have embedded the movie right here for your viewing pleasure, and to do our bit to create awareness about climate change. You can watch it right below the text. Don’t forget sharing this post with your friends and family who you think would care
